A Brief Word On Financing Escalators
Make sure they are NOT included in your financing!
An escalator fee is an annual increase in the monthly payment for lease financing. They are typically not a requirement to obtain financing and usually are hidden additional unnecessary fees… so watch out for them.
Many financing companies do not require an annual increase in your month payments. In most cases all it takes to insure you are not paying this unnecessary additional charge is to ask for their removal. Ask your company if an escalator is included in your financing. Disagree with them if they say it is standard.. Tell them that you won’t consider them further unless it is removed; and don’t let them increase any other price to do it. Make sure that IT IS removed before you sign any final documents.
